AMCD Condemns Antisemitism and Expresses Condolence for Victims of Tree of Life Massacre

The American Mideast Coalition for Democracy unequivocally condemns antisemitism in all its forms.

“We cannot close our eyes to the increasing level of antisemitism growing in our country or tolerate its growth on the right or on the left wings of our political discourse,” said AMCD co-Chair Tom Harb. “But I’m afraid we are now seeing a creeping ‘soft’ antisemitism coming in from the left in the form of anti-Zionism.”

“The effort to portray Palestinian Arabs as victims of ‘colonial oppression’ has resulted in an increase of animosity toward Israel and by extension, a growing resentment and increasing hatred toward all Jews, whether they live in Israel or not,” continued AMCD co-Chair John Hajjar. “This new demonization of Jews must be confronted and opposed on all levels.”

“The promotion of hatred toward our Jewish brethren must stop both here in the US and in nations of the Middle East” added AMCD vice-chair Hossein Khorram “We also express our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Jewish community of Pittsburgh and everywhere in the world.”

AMCD stands firmly with the state of Israel and for the rights of all religious minorities in the Middle East to determine their own destinies in a free and democratic manner. Israeli democracy is an example other Middle East nations should follow rather than seeking to destroy.

We pray for a swift and complete end to the irrational hatred of Jews known as antisemitism.
