Monica Maryam Blake passed away peacefully with her husband and friend by her side in San Francisco on August 22, 2021 due to a long battle with congestive heart failure and diabetes. She was born in Tehran, Iran to Mahmoud and Moulok Biklo. After a brief stay in the UK, she arrived in the United States and started a new life in San Francisco around 1978.
Monica loved to help everyone, more than herself most of the time. She was always so kind to strangers as well as friends and families and would go out of her way to offer assistance to people in need. Her giving heart was known by everyone who met her and she stayed in touch throughout the years with everyone.
Monica loved traveling, writing as a published author, walking along the bay, playing the Santouri, and writing in Farsi Calligraphy. Her favorite destinations were San Diego, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, and years back, Northern Europe. Monica received a Bachelors degree from USF Organizational Behavior.
Monica’s main devotion was learning law and being a published author. She was a Law Office Manager for her good friends Robert Sprague and Edward McDonald at different times in her life as well as helping many people with legal help. But just as important she was a devoted wife to her husband Greg Blake for over 33 years, always making sure to bring home food every night if she was not cooking her delicious Persian and Italian dinners. She never once used a recipe and was a natural cook.
Monica was survived by her Husband Greg Blake, Sister Fay Biklo, and brothers Khosrow Biklo, Erik Biklo, and Patrick Biklo, as well as the family dog, Chase Blake, who still dutifully waits for her every night by the door. She was preceded in death by her brother Faraj Biklo. Friends may visit Saturday, September 4th beginning at 4pm at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. in Daly City where a service will begin at 5:30pm
