WASHINGTON DC: The American Mideast Coalition for Democracy (AMCD) heartily endorses President Trump’s pending decision to decertify the Iran Deal. “The problem is not so much the deal itself, it is the behavior of the Iranian regime outside the deal,” said Tom Harb, co-founder of AMCD.  He continued, “As things stand, Iran has already received all the benefits from the deal. Now they just have to develop their ballistic missile capabilities and will be free to fit them with nuclear warheads at the end of nine years. Plus, there is nothing in the deal that would curb their continuing efforts to destabilize the region.”

“The suffering of the people of Iran under this vicious Islamist regime will only continue as long as the regime is supported by the terms of this terrible agreement,” said Iranian-American Hossein Khorram. “The regime is now flush with cash and they are using it to oppress their own people.”

Addressing the likely unhappy response by the European participants in the deal, cofounder John Hajjar said, “The Europeans will have to decide whether they want to trade with Iran or with the US, just like China has to decide about whether trade with North Korea is worth jeopardizing trade with the US. President Trump has the moral clarity to put things in such stark terms, and we fully support him. Now that we have the benefit of hindsight, and they have continued destabilizing the region not reforming in the least in the wake of the deal; this tells us all we need to know about the nature of the Iranian regime.”
