AMCD Blasts CAIR Georgia and Calls for Members to Turn Out for Republicans

The American Mideast Coalition for Democracy condemns Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) and activist Linda Sarsour for supporting the the Muslim Brotherhood after they appeared in a virtual event hosted by the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the “Georgia Muslim Voter Project” on Sunday.

They are supporting Georgia Democratic candidates for the Senate, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in the run-off election against incumbent Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.

Senator Warnock in particular has a troubling past, having embraced Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam, praised the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, called Israel an “apartheid state” and Israelis “birds of prey,” and the list goes on. An endorsement by CAIR is an endorsement by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Senator Ted Cruz re-introduced a bill that would designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization in the United States and thus, by connection, CAIR, having been founded as a US fundraising arm for Hamas, would come under sanction. The UAE already considers CAIR an FTO.

“CAIR should have no influence in our elections whatsoever,” said AMCD co-chair Tom Harb. “This is yet another example of foreign election interference and it has to stop.”

“We want to urge all our members in Georgia to vote and to volunteer as election observers to make sure this election is free and fair,” added John Hajjar. “There are serious allegations of voter fraud from the November 3rd election in Georgia. We want to help insure this election is legitimate.”

“AMCD is the antidote to CAIR,” said AMCD vice-chair Hossein Khorram. “Patriotic Americans of Middle Eastern descent, who wish to put America first, can help be the bulwark against the radicalism that would sweep the country if the Democrats take both these Senate seats. We can’t let that happen. We want America to remain the land of opportunity for all our people.”

Khorram went on to say, “Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Linda Sarsour and CAIR may have sold their principles for political gain which is apparent by their total silence despite the Chinese Communist Party’s responsibility for atrocities committed against Uyghur Muslims. I find it equally shameful not to oppose Muslim extremist atrocities in the Middle East, but these people are always trigger-ready to accuse President Trump of racism unjustly.”

AMCD stands firmly for the American Constitution and urges our members to vote accordingly.
