American MidEast Coalition for Democracy (“AMCD”) supports the Trump Administration’s withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal and re-imposing tough sanctions aimed to get Tehran to stop supporting militants in the Middle East, stop testing missiles and treat its own citizens with more respect.

“The sanctions that will be re-imposed tomorrow are the toughest sanctions ever put in place on the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Secretary Pompeo said during an appearance on Fox News on November 4, 2018. “They’re aimed at a single purpose — denying the world’s largest state sponsor of terror the capacity to do things like the things they’ve done in the past few weeks,” Secretary Pompeo stated.

Hossein Khorram, AMCD Vice Chairman and an Iranian American predicts that the sanctions will make the lives of the ordinary Iranians much more difficult in an already collapsing economy which was on a downward spiral even before the U.S. pulled out of the nuclear deal.

Iranians in their campaign of civil disobedience are bringing to life the everlasting words of Patrick Henry who said “Give me liberty, or give me death” in the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775, at St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia.

Khorram believes that President Trump prediction will come true and the clerical regime will come to the negotiating table. However, it would be wise for the United States to listen to the Iranian people cries for freedom and liberty and continue insisting on human rights in Iran as one of the preconditions of removing any sanctions.

Hossein Khorram, says his fellow Iranians are asking the United States “Give us liberty, or give us death!” He hopes these words reminds us of our own nation’s struggle and our obligation to help others achieve their freedom.
