We, the residents of the border villages in southern Lebanon—representing various communities including Christian, Druze, Sunni, and some Shiite villages—consider Hezbollah and its armed members to be outlaw elements. They have disregarded our fate, exposing our children to grave danger, forcing our displacement, and causing the destruction of our homes.
We do not want them to interfere in our affairs or enter the vicinity of our villages.
We therefore call upon the international forces (UNIFIL), the Lebanese Army, the Israeli Army, and the United States—which sponsors the agreements between the parties—to respect our will and our clear desire not to allow these individuals to pass through or operate in our villages. Such actions would impose unbearable burdens on us.
We are prepared to coordinate efforts to ensure our villages remain free of armed elements and their supporters, in order to prevent further displacement and destruction.
