WASHINGTON DC: The American Mideast Coalition for Democracy opposes the move to replace the House subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade. Incoming Democratic chairman, New York Representative Eliot L. Engel, announced plan to replace it with a committee to investigate the President’s overseas business dealings.

“This is unsurprising as President Trump has been so successful in dealing with the three issues of terrorism, non-proliferation and trade. The democrats probably feel free not to worry about those issues for the time being,” said AMCD co-chair Tom Harb. “Trump has dealt decisively with ISIS and we’ve had no major terror attacks here. He’s in the process of dealing with both North Korea and Iran on their nuclear projects and is dealing with China which presents our major trading problem. Since Trump has already handled it all, they probably felt there was nothing left to do.”

“Unfortunately,” added AMCD co-chair John Hajjar, “we know the religious ideology which fuels terrorism is far from dead and likely to return from an unexpected direction at any time. When this happens, the Democrats will look like fools.”

“This is typical of the Democrats’ utopian worldview,” continued AMCD vice chair, Hossein Khorram. “They consistently refuse to acknowledge the dangerous realities facing the country. This is of a piece with their refusal to see a problem on our southern border, despite all evidence to the contrary. When the democrats are faced with a problem, their first instinct is to wish it away. It would be comical, if it weren’t so dangerous.”
