July – September 2022

July

We began July with our advisor, Walid Phares asking, “Will Biden Take Trump’s or Obama’s path with Iran?” And it didn’t take long to find out.

AMCD expressed the outrage of citizens of Lebanon and Christians the world over after pro-Hezbollah Judge Fadi Akiki ordered the arrest and interrogation of Maronite Archbishop Musa al-Hajj, the Archbishop of Haifa and the Holy Land, and the Patriarchal Vicar for Jerusalem, the Palestinian Territories and the Hashemite Kingdom. He was held for over 8 hours in a blatant attempt to intimidate him into changing his position in favor of UN resolution 1559 regarding the disarming of all militias and liberating Lebanon from all foreign meddling, specifically from the domination of the Iranian proxy, Hezbollah. The government of Lebanon has been using military courts to detain and threaten critics of Hezbollah and has even threatened our own co-chair, Tom Harb, with arrest.

August

AMCD called out CAIR and their Ikhwan allies for spreading the outright lie that General Khalifa Haftar of Libya had been found guilty of war crimes in a US court of law. In reality, the judge had issued a default judgment against Haftar for not showing up to testify. Unfortunately, Mark Twain’s aphorism is still true: “A lie makes it half-way around the world before the truth gets its boots on.”

On August 3, we issued a statement in support of Congresswoman Mary Miller after she was the subject of a hit piece by Illinois Public Media reporter Harrison Malkin titled “Congresswoman Mary Miller supports ‘maximum sanctions’ on Iran despite their ‘devastating’ impact.” Malkin also criticized Miller for last April’s meeting with Bryan Leib, Executive Director of Iranian Americans for Liberty, an organization which supports sanctions. AMCD supports maximum sanctions and pressure on Iran until the present theocratic regime is overthrown.

We were also happy to witness the end of al-Qaida’s Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, who began his jihadist journey as a high-ranking member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt before teaming up with bin Laden. The wheels of justice grind slow but exceedingly fine.

AMCD’s executive director, Rebecca Bynum, took aim at Bob Ferguson, Washington State’s attorney general, who has been abusing his position of power for years, especially by targeting conservative activist, Tim Eyman.

Bynum then investigated and exposed the campaign by the Muslim Brotherhood to discredit General Haftar in order to defeat him in the upcoming Libyan Presidential election. The Brotherhood was defeated in Egypt but have not given up on the chance to take over Libya.

On August 11, AMCD members met with the very impressive candidate for Arizona Attorney General, Abraham Hamadeh. This is a man to watch – win, loose, or draw. At the time of writing, it appeared he had won his race, but the vote-counters in Arizona are exceedingly slow and we may not be certain for a few more days.

September

On September 1, AMCD members met with Matt Larkin, the Republican candidate for Washington State’s 8th Congressional district. Matt is passionate about helping to restore his state after all it has suffered under Democratic control. Unfortunately, it appears that control will continue.

On September 8, we helped to magnify a story neglected in the Western media. The Libyan National Army (LNA) killed the mastermind behind the sickening mass beheading of Coptic Christian men on the beach in Sirte in 2015.Those who saw the horrific video of the beheadings at the time will never forget it.

On September 19, our advisor Walid Phares published an op-ed in Newsmax analyzing the impact on the Middle East of our disastrous pull-out from Afghanistan. U.S. influence in the Middle East has plummeted.

Shortly thereafter, AMCD issued a statement in support of the women of Iran in their righteous struggle for freedom. That protest has since blossomed into a full-fledged revolt all across Iranian society. Beyond some feeble words of half-hearted support, the Biden administration has sat on its hands.

On September 22, 2022, members of AMCD met with Matthew Patrick Thomas (MPT), chairman of the King County Republican Party in Washington State. He is an enthusiastic and passionate voice for the issues Republican voters care about. Unfortunately, it may take some time before the electorate swings back to a center-right position.

On September 30, AMCD joined the voices calling out the Iranian Association of Boston as being on the side of the mullahs of Iran, much like the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC). It is our hope that NIAC soon ceases to have the ear of our government on Iranian issues. It is becoming increasingly clear that they are the voice of the regime, not the people of Iran or Iranian-Americans.
